Happy Wednesday! Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop and the theme is a sketch challenge. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
I have a new habit for 2021 in which I exercise before I craft... makes it a bit difficult on blog hop days; however, today's inspiration is from my view this morning while exercising! Mr. Mallard came to visit the visit the bird feeder... and there is a dried hydrangea bloom from last year nearby. Definitely a lovely sight!
Project Details
A Shaded Spruce panel was embossed with the retiring Subtle embossing folder to resemble the grass in our yard and adhered to the Shaded Spruce vertical top folding card base. The Beautiful Friendship hydrangea image was randomly stamped on a 2-1/4" x 5-1/2" strip of Very Vanilla cardstock with Crumb Cake ink. Additional hydrangea images were randomly stamped on scrap pieces of Very Vanilla for diecutting the Hydrangea Dies multiple bloom strip... these little blooms were pierced in the centers using the Stampin' Pierce Mat and the Pick a Tool and adhered to a small hand-cut heart with Mini Glue Dots creating a hydrangea cluster.
A Very Vanilla circle was die cut with the retiring Stitched Shapes Dies. The Field Journal duck was stamped on the circle with Crumb Cake ink. The duck was colored with Pretty Peacock (head), Soft Suede (breast and wings), Pumpkin Pie (feet), Daffodil Delight (beak) and Basic Black (eye) Stampin' Blends. The grass was colored with the Dark Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends marker. The circle was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The Hydrangea Dies tag was embellished with Linen Thread and a fussy cut Field Journal sentiment and adhered to the card front with a stack of two Dimensionals. The hydrangea cluster was tucked behind the tag. Three pearls were added to complete the elements of the sketch.
No card is complete with attention to the inside and the coordinating envelope! Layers were similarly replicated while special Field Journal sentiment was added for the recipient. The envelope front and flap were stamped to coordinate with the card as a sneak peek for what's inside for the recipient.
