TODAY'S PROJECT
We are sharing lots of sunshine today through our monochrome rainbow projects around the world! Each time zone was assigned a color... so my project is all about BLUE (the Coastal Cabana color on the challenge map)! Stampin' Up! has so many amazing colors that coordinate and the blue color family is no exception...
PROJECT DETAILS
SNEAK PEEK ALERT!!! The Color & Contour Bundle was first on my list for the 2021-22 Annual Catalog Preorder earlier this month. I love flowers... and when you toss in artwork that looks like hand drawn sketches and amazing sentiments and fonts. And then the coordinating dies with scallops! Oh my, what's not to love?!?
This flower is so fun to stamp with and it has a coordinating fill image stamp and die! The fill image is not a "perfect" fill... it gives you a watercolored effect. When layering both stamps, find the petal that is your focus petal. I chose the petal that looks like a double petal. Once you've done this, it doesn't matter what direction you stamp the image, you will always be able to line it up... and if you don't, no worries as no one will ever know!
The flower outline image was tapped in Night of Navy ink and stamped onto Basic White cardstock. The fill imfage was tapped on each of the blue ink pads separately and stamped over the outline image. The fill image was cleaned a Simply Shammy between changing colors. TIP: Keep one ink pad open at a time to avoid cross contamination while keeping them in stacks to assist with color order/groupings.
Each card has the flowers arranged in a wreath with the darker shades on one side (Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight, Pacific Point and Seaside Spray) and the lighter shades on the other side (Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party and Balmy Blue). The flowers were all adhered with Mini Glue Dots.
Two of the card designs used the flower die cut as the sentiment panels! The "thank you" sentiment was actually stamped on two different die cuts (one regular and one reverse) allowing for the completion of the "e" on the bottom line. This card also used three additional flowers to "fill" the center for a bouquet look.
The envelope fronts and envelope flaps were all identically stamped with Night of Navy and Balmy Blue ink. Two extra envelopes were stamped as a thought crossed my mind...
The cards would make the perfect gift set especially with a coordinating cardholder! The Basic White cardstock layer was stamped in Night of Navy creating a classic feel. The White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon was adhered to the Night of Navy cardstock layers with Tear & Tape Adhesive before the layers were adhered to cardholder base with liquid glue.
