Happy Thursday, y'all! Hello and welcome to the Global Creative INKspirations Blog Hop! You are either starting here or coming from Danielle's blog. This month we are sharing some inspiration with you using products from the Sweet Strawberry Bundle.
Today's Project
Project Details
The Real Red cardbases are Mini Slim sizes... created from two 5-1/2" square pieces of cardstock! This way they fit in our standard Basic White envelopes. I ususally shorten the envelopes, but for today they are lined with Real Red and Garden Green DSP as envelope liners to sturdy up the envelopes for mailing.
The strawberries were stamped with StazOn and watercolored by dipping the Water Brushes in a glass of watter. After watercoloring the first strawberry, I quickly switched to this as the water turned red! The strawberries were watercolored with Daffodil Delight, Real Red and Blackberry Bliss representing the different ripenesses of the strawberries. The stems were watercolored with Garden Green.
Additional strawberries were watercolored for the insides! With the watercoloring paper, the berries were easier to fussy cut. The stems were punched out specifically for the thickness of the stems... while the leaves were trimmed up a bit. The cardstock layers were enlarged to allow for additional room for corresponding to the recipient on Basic White cardstock after the strawberries and stems were adhered with liquid glue.
STAMPING TIP: Did you notice that I was using the Stamparatus as my workspace for the watercoloring, etc.? This is actually something that I do all the time! I may not always use the hinge plates for my stamping, but I love using my Stamparatus as a "stamping space". This always keeps my creative options open!
The sentiments were all inked with VersaMark, stamped on scrap Basic Black cardstock and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.
And as I had an extra cardbase, the fourth card was created with Basic White cardstock and stamping with Tuxedo Black Memento. The fill stamps were used to ink the strawberries with Real Red and the stems with Garden Green. Which do you prefer? The stamp filled image (top card in the above photo) or the watercoloring (bottom card in the above photo)?
Do you ever create something and then realize that you love the envelope more than you do the card itself?!? That's what happened with the fourth card that I created as I loved the look of the strawberries without the outline when using the fill image stamps! So that is definitely a look that I will be creating more cards with using different techniques!
