Hello y'all! I am so glad that you've popped by on this rainy day here in NW Ohio. Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop as we are sharing lots of inspiration in our projects that are anything but a card - yes, you read that correctly - anything but a card... There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
A year and a half ago, I was busy planning some awesome projects for some special customer classes and then life happened and the classes had to be postponed. So the materials for projects got set aside for later... and today is that later! The DIYer in me loves to visit Hobby Lobby for inspiration. One day I was able to find some awesome frames in the Woodpile section and knew that the medium brown frames would be ideal for whitewashing. And that is what I did for today's project!
Project Details
The easel back pine slatted panel (7.8" x 0.71" x 7.87") was whitewashed with white chalk paint and set aside to dry for several hours until completely dry.
The Playful Alphabet Dies were used for die cutting the letters for "home sweet home". All of the letters minus one of the "Os" were die cut three times and adhered together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The most important "O" of all was created with the Wreath Builder Dies using Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Mint Macaron, Just Jade and Shaded Spruce cardstocks to create seasonal colored wreaths.
Each wreath was decorated for a season with the Braided Linen Trim being the anchor for holding the wreath in place through the picture hanger on the backside making it easy to change. Fancy Linen Thread Bows were made and attached to wreaths. The flowers were adhered to the wreaths with Mini Glue Dots with Pearls, Metallic Pearls or Matte Black Dots used as the flower centers.
