Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I decided to participate in a "new to me" challenge over at As You See It! I was rather intrigued with the elements of the challenge and thought with it being St. Patrick's Day that I would make a green themed card for a special someone in my life!
Today's Project
Every once in awhile I like to make a special card for the love of my life... and with the earth tones requirement for this challenge, I couldn't resist making this card with him in mind. He follows my blog so here's hoping that he doesn't mind that he was my inspiration.
Project Details
The Nature's Beauty deer image was inked in Crumb Cake, stamped onto Shimmery White cardstock, colored with a damp Fine Tip Water Painter, and fussy cut. Sections of Shimmery White cardstock were watercolored with Mint Macaron and Mossy Meadow with a Medium Tip Water Painter. Once dry, the areas were die cut with two of the Majestic Mountain Dies. The Good Morning Magnolia sentiment was inked in VersaMark and Mossy Meadow, stamped onto a scrap piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, heat embossed with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and die cut with the Tasteful Label Dies. The 3-3/4" x 5" Crumb Cake cardstock layer was embossed with the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder. Two threads were pulled from the Mossy Meadow 3/16" Braided Linen Trim, wrapped around the embossed layer and tied off with a bow. The trees and dear were adhered to the embossed layer with liquid glue. The sentiment layer was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. The embossed layer was adhered to two stair step Mossy Meadow layers before being adhered to the Crumb Cake vertical top-folding card base.
The inside of the card was also similarly layered, embossed and stamped. As a final touch after everything was put together, splatters of Mossy Meadow ink were added with the water painter.
I hope that my entry in this challenge has inspired you to also look at the As You See It card challenge blog. It is definitely filled with lots of amazing inspiration by the design team and other challenge participants.

Love your watercolour effects with your die cuts, Angie! Very masculine and effective! Thanks for using our recipe at As You See It Challenges!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Heather. Loved finding this fun challenge to create this card.
DeleteAngie, I'm so glad you discovered us! I really like the way you've combined the embossing folder with the trees from Majestic Mountain dies - I'm very fond of both these things and have never thought to combine them. The beautiful mottling of the die cut trees adds such a lot of interest to the design, as do those finishing-touch splatters. Thank you for joining in our recipe challenge at As You See It.
ReplyDeleteSo glad I found your challenge, too! It's amazing! Thanks so much for your comments, it means a lot to me that you noticed all the details. x
