Happy February! Hello and welcome to my blog! It's that time of month to remember two simple words - thank you. There are so many reasons that we can send a card to friend or hand one to a complete stranger - so why not a special thank you? This is exactly what I am highlighting today for Kylie Bertucci's Monthly International Blog Highlights.
Today's Project
I love sending thank you cards to my family, friends and customers just because they are so special to me. It is snowing today in NW Ohio and we received about four inches yesterday so our property is a beautiful sight! So today's Basic White Thick card base is symbolic of the gorgeous layer of snow outside. And the fluttering butterflies are symbolic of the falling snowflakes as I couldn't bring myself to make a snowflake card today. The snow makes me smile and I have a feeling that these butterflies will bring a smile to the face of the recipient more so than snowflakes would have!
Project Details
These butterflies were created with the amazing cut and emboss die from the Fluttering Dies from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog (pg. 61) using the Baby Wipe Technique that I so love to use with this type of die. Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight helped to create the magic of the homemade ink pad on a baby wipe. Just press the die onto the inked baby wipe (which I fold and place on a Clear Block), lift and lay carefully onto scrap pieces of Basic White cardstock which are already positioned on the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run it through the machine and woo-lah! You have a beautiful butterfly! Ink and repeat for as many times as you would like... planning ahead for more than the one project that you're working on as you do not want to waste this amazing homemade ink pad. Granted when it does dry out, you can reuse it by surrounding it with new wet baby wipes... the ink will be lighter though.
The Celebrate Sunflowers sentiment was the perfect sentiment to go with this bunch of butterflies which was adhered to the background created with one of the Greenery Embossing Folders. The sentiment was heat embossed on a strip of So Saffron cardstock.
