Happy Tuesday, y'all! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a terrific day! Today I am hopping with the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop and we are sharing lots of inspiration for using die cuts in your products. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water, or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
I love background dies and the Flowering Vines Dies (January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, pg. 62) were a must have for me. There are three main dies - a circle, an oval and a rectangle - along with a sentiment die, and seven floral dies (coordinating with the stamp set) that can be used for so many projects. Today, it's all about the circle and sentiment dies!
Project Details
The background was created on a craft day last month when I had fun with the Gel Press Background Technique (click here to read how you can create it, too!) so this card actually came together rather quickly. The Sahara Sand/Petal Pink background was trimmed to 3-3/4" x 5" and adhered to a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Basic White cardstock layer. The detailed circle Flowering Vine Die was die cut twice and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
The die cut layers were adhered to the cardstock layers. The Enjoy the Moment sentiment was stamped on scrap Basic White and die cut with the Flowering Vine sentiment die. TIP: Run straight edged dies like this sentiment die for better impressions.
The Label Me Fancy Punch was used to punch the sentiment label. Linen Thread was threaded through the sentiment label, wrapped around the card layers and tied off with a bow. Elegant Faceted Gems were added for a special touch. The layers were adhered to the Sahara Sand horizontal top folding cardbase with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The inside layers were duplicated to compliment the card front. The vine was inked in Sahara Sand, off-stamped on the grid paper and then stamped onto the Gel Press Background layer. The sentiment was inked in Sahara Sand and stamped as shown. The Basic White Medium Envelope was stamped with the vine image on the front and the flap.
