Today I am hopping with the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop and we are sharing lots of inspiration in our projects today where we have been inspired by the big screen - movies & TV! There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water, or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
Today's project was inspired by my favorite new TV series that streams on Netflix - Sweet Magnolias! I'm a big fan of the Hallmark Channel and the hubby is wonderful about watching the movies with me every weekend. However, last week he was wanting to try something new so we watched Season 1 of this wonderful TV series over the course of four evenings! So needless to say I will be watching the episodes several more times before the start of Season 2 in late 2021 or early 2022 (I'm so thrilled that the series was renewed for Season 2!!!). If you have seen the series, today's card design should remind you of the painting that Maddie's Mom, Paula, painted for her sweet magnolias to hang in their spa. One magnolia representing each of her sweet magnolias...
Project Details
Using a Blending Brush, add Petal Pink ink to two layers of 3-3/4" x 5" Shimmery White cardstock. Using the Stamparatus, stamp the large magnolia image in Sahara Sand ink three times on Shimmery White cardstock. Fussy cut the magnolias with the stem, trimming off the leaves, and arrange on one of the blended Shimmery White layers. Ink the stem only in Sahara Sand by pressing several pieces of Shimmery White scraps directly onto the large magnolia stamp. Fussy cut the stems leaving some with a bit of additional cardstock. Adhere the stem pieces together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue allowing secure attachments with wiggle room to create the two longer curved branches. Color the stems, branches and stamen with Light Crumb Cake and Light Gray Granite Stampin' Blends.
Adhere the magnolias, stems and branches to the blended Shimmery White layer. Trim any overhanging stems. Adhere the blended layer to a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Sahara Sand cardstock layer. Adhere to two 3-3/4" x 5" Sahara Sand cardstock layers to create a floating effect of the images. Adhere layers to the Petal Pink vertical top-folding card base.
Stamp the small magnolia image in Sahara Sand ink along the bottom of the blended Shimmery White cardstock layer. Stamp the To a Wild Rose sentiment in Sahara Sand ink as shown. Adhere to a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Sahara Sand cardstock layer. Adhere to the inside of the card base. And don't forget to stamp the small magnolia image on the envelope front and flap for a sneak peek of what's inside for the recipient.
