Today's Project
I was thrilled when I spied the Hey Birthday Chick Stamp Set in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog (pg. 52), but I squealed with excitement when I learned that DIES were available in February along with the encore of its predecessor the Hey Chick Stamp Set (offered during Sale-A-Bration 2017) with coordinating dies! These little chicks and the coordinating dies make me smile every time I see them while warming my heart of years gone by... memories of Granny, my maternal grandmother, and her chickens.
Project Details
There are lots of birthdays coming up for my friends and family coming up this month so I couldn't resist focusing on the Hey Birthday Chick bundle! The adorable little party chick just makes me smile and he/she was so fun to replicate and color with my Stampin' Blends. The streamers were colored with Blends, too! The Stitched Rectangle Dies and the Stitched Shapes Dies are the base dies creating the fun stitching that represent the little tracks of these party chicks.
The Happy Birthday sentiment was die cut twice... once in Basic White and once in Daffodil Delight to layer it up on the card front. The celebration sentiment background was randomly stamped in Daffodil Delight and then additional colors were randomly added with the fine tip end of the Stampin' Blends for pops of color.
The celebration continues inside with the rectangle layers being duplicated on the top panel. The scene was created from both the Chick Dies and the Birthday Chick Dies which work perfectly together just like the stamp sets. The sentiment on the sign is from the Hey Chick stamp set.
And we always need a place to write our well wishes to the recipient so the party chicks continue their little dance across the bottom stitching of the card panel.
And while the ink and Blends are still out, the envelope front and flap are a must to stamp and color, too! Nothing like a sneak peek of what's inside, right?!
