Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop - January 2021 - Special Event

You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA.  This amazing group of talented, international Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators has some incredible projects for those of you who need some inspiration for something special happening in your lives...  I hope you enjoy my project on this cold, wintery day here in the USA as we share things related to Special Events! 

Today's Project

Life is always so amazing, don't you think, especially when we learn of little ones making their appearances in the world?!?  Well, the Life Enrichment Director at my parents' senior living facility had a baby girl on Christmas Day so I've been needing to make her a congratulations card.  And just last week, one of my customers became a grandmother!  The Treasures of Life stamp set was the stamp set that I knew I had to use for these special people in my life.

Project Details

The Treasures of Life and Embrace Each Moment images were inked in Basic Gray and stamped onto Basic White cardstock.  The images were colored with Stampin' Blends Markers accentuating the skin and hair tones...  referring to the amazing skin tone chart provided by Jacque Williams, I chose the skin tones that reminded me of the people in my life.  The label die from the Fluttering Dies was used to die cut the colored images.  The textured layer was created by embossing a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White cardstock with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder to resemble the texture of a soft baby's blanket.  The embossed layer was adhered to a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Basic White layer to resemble satin trim around the blanket.  The Treasures of Life sentiment was inked in VersaMark, stamped onto a 5/8" x 5-1/8" strip of Blushing Bride cardstock and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  The layers were adhered to a vertical top-folding Blushing Bride card base.  The colored die cut was adhered with Dimensionals.

The portion of the baby bunting was colored with the Blushing Bride Stampin' Write Marker for the grandparent card.  The insides of both cards were stamped identically as the sentiment is perfect for any generation enjoying the addition of a little bundle of joy.

The Treasures of Life image was inked in Basic Gray, stamped off on scraps and stamped onto the inside Basic White layer.  The sentiment was inked in Basic Gray and stamped below the image.  The heart was colored in with the Blushing Bride Stampin' Write Marker.

And don't forget to stamp the envelope and/or envelope flap to coordinate with what's inside.  The Well Said sentiments were inked/colored to coordinate.    The font made it simple to copy for personalization of the baby's name with a Basic Gray Stampin' Write Marker.  

Can't you just imagine these cards in shades of blue, yellow, green and purple for little boys and baby showers?!   I will definitely be making a stash of these to have on hand for more babies coming in 2021.
