HAPPY NEW YEAR, Y'ALL!!! I realized that there were just a few cards that I neglected to share with you last year as I was preparing for this month's blog hops so I thought that I would share them today and tomorrow since they include retiring products. You will definitely want to get your hands them before they are gone.
In 2019, I stamped two sheets of holly with the lovely Golden Glitz Delicata Metallic ink (retired), colored them with my Stampin' Blends and fussy cut them. I used maybe half of what I prepped and have been lovingly looking at them on my craft desk over the past year as they were nicely stacked just waiting to be used. And now that this amazing stamp set is RETIRING I made some last minute cards with them.
The Gold Foil label had been hanging around for as long as the red berry holly so the layers and stamped image on Very Vanilla were the only things needed for me to actually pull this card together! The Very Vanilla cardstock layer was embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, layered with a Real Red cardstock layer. The Christmas Gleaming sentiment was stamped in Real Red ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut with a Painted Labels die that was "shortened" to fit the sentiment (the similar Tasteful Labels die was too short). The gold foil label was threaded with the Gold Twine (from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack), wrapped around both card stock layers and tied off with a bow. The shortened sentiment label and the holly were adhered with liquid glue. The completed layers were adhered to the top folding vertical Old Olive card base.
The layers were repeated for the inside to compliment the front. The sentiments from Tag Buffet (retiring) were stamped in Real Red onto the Very Vanilla cardstock layer which was embossed with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder across the top. (TIP: I actually cut the bottom half of the lengthy sentiment just to be able to stamp three lines. If you wish to not do that yourself, cover the image with a post it note prior to inking being careful to remove it before stamping.)
I hope that you have been inspired by this festive Christmas card and are finding yourself enjoying the sounds of this new start to a new year by surrounding yourself with love and laughter, one of the best sounds around, don't you think?!
Have a blessed day!
