Welcome to The Joy of Sets Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA and are either starting with me or landing here after visiting the blog of Linda A. Moore. I hope that you are enjoying your weekend!
The Joy of Sets is a closed Facebook group full of papercrafters who love to stamp and create beautiful things whether it is cards, 3D projects, or scrapbooking. The best part of the group is that we share the love of using all of our stamping supplies from any company whether it's new or old. If you need some crafting mojo with your supplies, this is a group you should check out! This will be the last time that we are hopping together along this blog hop. It has been such a pleasure to promote this wonderful Facebook group created by Fiona Whitehead through this monthly blog hop. Thanks so much, Fiona!
Many of us along this blog hop will continue hopping together in a new upcoming blog hop, Stamping INKspirations, where we will continue to share and inspire you with ways to create with all of your Stampin' Up!® products - both current and retired. You will find us hopping on the second weekends of the month starting in January 2021. So stay tuned!
One of my favorite parts of the Christmas season is all the music that brings such warmth to my heart. There are over 100+ songs that get us all in the mood for the holiday. My favorites are all the traditional hymns that have been passed down over the generations... Away in a Manager, Silent Night, Little Town of Bethlehem, Oh Holy Night, Oh Come All Ye Faithful, Hark the Herald Angels Sing just to name a few. I have so many memories of playing Silent Night on my Granny Plank's pump organ and attending candlelight Christmas Eve services over the years. What songs to you love to hear or sing at this time of year?
My list is rather endless... but the ones about the birth of Christ, the reason for the season, are my most favorites.
The Stitched Stars dies made the perfect frame for this Peaceful Nativity manger scene.
The scene was stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Whisper White cardstock and colored with a variety of Stampin' Blends markers. I originally colored the holy scene in artistic colors, but since I'm reading a chapter of the Book of Luke everyday through Christmas (thanks to a challenge in the Creating for Christ Facebook Group), I opted to do some online research for the colors of that time. The tunics worn by men would have been more natural in color browns and tans (especially carpenters like Joseph) and women would have worn red and blue tunics. The lightest color of the Brushed Metallic Cardstock was my choice for the framed accent and complimented the Gold Metallic Trim (part of the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack). The For Onto Us sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy ink with one being fussy cut and the other left as a banner panel.
The inside and envelope were stamped to compliment the card front.
The other two cards used the same stamps plus the angel from the retired Light & Peace stamp set.
And since the inside is just as important as the cardfront they were stamped to compliment the card fronts.
I hope you have been inspired by my project today. There are several of us participating so be sure to hop around each of the blogs to see all the amazing "Christmas Music" inspiration. I know you don't want to miss any creative inspiration... so up next is Annette Ball!
