It's time for the December 2020 Challenge over at The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge! This will be our last challenge so the grid has been designed by all members of the Design Team. You can select any three of the design elements in a row on the board going in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal direction. I have chosen the vertical row of Glitter | Snowflake | Boughs and the horizonal rows of Metallic | Monochrome | Boughs and Sparkle | Non Traditional | Snowflake. If I had chosen a New Year theme... I may have been able to encompass all the elements! **wink**
I chose to create a Christmas themed card as I need some more to mail this year. This has been a hard for so many of us around the world due to the global pandemic... and unfortunately, it is one of the reasons that this is our challenge. I want to thank Fiona Whitehead, the creator of the Joy of Sets Facebook Group, for believing in me! This challenge group has been such a joy for me and has definitely stretched my creativity in so many ways! Fiona, you touch the lives of 3,000+ papercrafters every day through your group. We appreciate all that you do and pray that whatever you choose do to in 2021 sparks some joy back into your creativity as many of us understand what it feels like to loose our mojo. This card was made with you in mind as I pulled together the elements.
Snowflakes and boughs are some of my favorite elements that I personally love to create with so those were "must" chosen elements. And the retired Ice Glitter from last year's holiday catalog was the next "must" element to use. And then I started thinking of colors... and chose a non-traditional white and silver Christmas theme... being satisfied only because it made me think of Burl Ive's singing "Silver and Gold" from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. A smile crossed my face as I imagined Fiona enjoying Christmas with her precious granddaughter and singing this song to her with her angelic voice!
The ice glitter just sparkles against the snowflakes up against the Silver Foil die cuts. And I am sure that you have seen a glistening snowflake or two over the years as I have!
The heat embossed edge layer was created as a shiny foil layer was just not the right mix I thought. An "ah-ha" moment made me realize that the heat embossed edges would be the perfect compliment for the embossed sentiment strip.
I hope that today's project has inspired you to participate in our final challenge at The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge, #JOSTTT024. Please be sure to pop over to receive more inspiration from the other design team members and I look forward to seeing your entry (entries) on the blog!
Have a blessed day!
