Welcome to another edition of the Global Creative INKspirations Blog Hop! You are either starting here or coming from Danielle's blog. We hope that you are enjoying these special monthly posts as much as we enjoy sharing this time with you! This month we are focusing on projects reflecting Gratitude.
I love watching the leaves change... their colors are different every day especially from September to October here in NW Ohio before they completely fall by November (usually!). I have revisited a favorite technique of mine with the Gathered Leaves dies. The Babywipe Technique gives you different results each time you do it... and the color palettes are always so fun to play with just to see how they interact and the results.
Learning to preplan and waste not especially with this technique and others using any leaf dies, the cardstock was precut with preconceded ideas with how I would use the negatives. Of course, like most of us crafters, the original idea gets tweaked a bit during the creative process. Here are results of my fun time with this homemade ink pad!
These embossed dies are so amazing and the results, I think, are breathing especially when the leaves are die cut from Shimmery White cardstock. It just gives a nice wow effect to the leaves at so many angles. The negative spaces for one card was colored with the babywipe just by pressing it on the surface. While the negative space for the other card acts as an overlay or window to the inked layer behind it.
The sentiments for both cards were stamped in Merry Merlot and fussy cut. Very Vanilla envelopes were lined with the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper to compliment the color palettes.
I hope that this has inspired you to try getting a bit inky and trying this fun technique with your cards! Now, let's pop over for some more inspiration across the waters with Tania (click here)! She has another fun idea for you to try... you'll be amazed, I'm sure.
