Welcome to The Joy of Sets Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA and are either starting with me or landing here after visiting the blog of Lisa Mackey. I hope that you are enjoying your weekend!
The Joy of Sets is a closed Facebook group full of papercrafters who love to stamp and create beautiful things whether it is cards, 3D projects, or scrapbooking. The best part of the group is that we share the love of using whatever stamping supplies we have whether it's new or old. If you need some crafting mojo with your supplies, this is a group you should check out! And there are several group members who will be hopping every month throughout the year!
September has always been the start of new traditions for me... from football to school to routines to love! Love in September, really?!? My parents got married 59 years in September so this has always been a fun month to celebrate love in my family. So this month's Weddings theme should definitely get you feeling the love as we all share our projects!
My parents on their wedding day with their parents.
A memory from their 50th anniversary celebration.
My parents' selfie taken on their 59th anniversary!!!
I am sure that the two youngsters on their wedding day never would have thought they would be able to take their own picture and see it instantaneously 59 years ago! Much less having a daughter with blog to share such love! I am so blessed to have such a loving family. **warm fuzzies**
The Prized Peony stamp set was a must for their special anniversary! My mom always loved my dad's mother's peony bush so she was given a cutting of it to root. She rooted it, daddy planted it and it flourished. Just wish I had taken a cutting of it myself when they moved for it to continue its journey.
The peony was stamped in Sahara Sand. The blooms were colored with Melon Mambo Combo Blends and the leaves with Old Olive and Shaded Spruce Combo Blends. The image was die cut and fussy trimmed. The Dainty Diamonds debossed layer was trimmed to fit the double-sided debossed, scalloped layer. The ribbon was wrapped around the Whisper White layers and tied off with a bow. The So Sentimental sentiment was stamped in Shaded Spruce and die cut with a Tasteful Label die. The peony was snipped and arranged around the sentiment. The arrangement was adhered with liquid glue and Stampin' Dimensionals.
The Shaded Spruce vertical top folding card base was layered with Whisper White and Shaded Spruce layers for a touch of elegance. While clear Elegant Faceted Gems were the perfect touch for a finishing touch.
The inside is as important as the card front. The layers were replicated and the sentiment was customized to reflect their love of 59 years and the special occasion.
I hope you have been inspired by my project today. There are several of us participating so be sure to hop around each of the blogs to see all the amazing wedding inspirations. I know you don't want to miss any creative inspiration... so up next is Pia Gerhardt!
