My family has always been a family that gifts multiple cards for birthdays as Hallmark always says the perfect things in more than way... my mom and I would always walk out with a handful of cards for just two or three occasions! So the tradition continues with me for my immediate family when it comes to making cards for our special days. As if I really need an excuse to make multiple cards, right?!? **WINK**
Inspired by Sharon Burkett's slim line Christmas card during last month's blog hop, I remembered a money gift holder I had created (a slim line card before I knew the name!) and that's how I came about with today's projects which were created for my hubby's August birthday!
To create the 3-1/2" x 8-1/2" card base, cut a full sheet of Night of Navy cardstock to 7" x 8-1/2"and score at 3-1/2"; fold and burnish with your bone folder. Cut two pieces of Whisper White cardstock to 3" x 8". and two pieces of Real Red cardstock to 3-1/8" x 8-1/8". Select two circles from the Layering Circles Dies to die cut the life preserver in Whisper White. Increase the outer circle and die cut in Real Red. Use your paper snips to cut the Real Red wedges. Adhere with liquid glue onto the preserver. Attach White Baker's Twine (I used the retired twine; however, the Black & White Twine from the Pampered Pets Ribbon Combo Pack can be separated) around the edge... adhere with glue dots. Place in the center of the Whisper White layer and stamp the Sailing Home and By the Dock images in Night of Navy. Run the stamped layer with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder through your embossing machine twice being mindful to line up the planks. Adhere the preserver with dimensionals and the layers with liquid glue.
I hope today's coordinating projects using products from the 2020-21 annual catalog have inspired you to think of ways that you can use them yourself with your projects.
