I have some customers that I made some special thank you cards for this month... the cards are a special as they are one of a kind thank you from me to them for their orders. I hope that these cards inspire you.
Everyone needs a little seasonal inspiration, right?!? I love to share with my customers techniques that I know they will enjoy and things that they can try themselves and even have fun guessing what I did. So this month, they will be tickled that I can refer them to my blog post for the specifics so they can recreate the cards themselves.
The card bases were made with one piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. They were cut and scored and the one remaining piece of cardstock was used for the panels for the Harvest Blessings card. Rather nice that it worked out that way, right? I thought so! I will not go into the details of creating the Harvest Blessings card as you can read all about it here.
I knew I had to use the Buffalo Check background stamp for this one customer. It was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink using the Stamparatus. It's been awhile since I've used this stamp and it took me several tries before I had it inked up perfectly. Using the Stamparatus allows you to stamp it again; however the fine diagonal lines get broader with each reinking so for me, I prefer the one time precision stamping.
The Ornate Layers Die was a perfect fit for this mini slim line card! And to highlight the background, it had to be a vellum layer. The Fancy Phrases sentiment and the Jar of Flowers sunflower arrangement (it does have a coordinating die, I just wanted to fussy cut!) were both stamped in Memento onto Whisper White cardstock and then fussy cut. The arrangement was colored with Stampin' Blends for the perfect fall touch. Coloring with Blends is so relaxing and forgiving... allowing you to the time to find the perfect color.
Light Daffodil Delight and Light Cinnamon Cider blended beautifully to resemble Bumblebee. Light Highland Heather, Light Rococo Rose and Dark Purple Posy blended delightfully together. Light Old Olive and Light Mossy Meadow are my favorite to blend together for greenery.
And please remember that the inside is as important as the card front! The Whisper White panel was die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies by extending the length of the die cut to fit the panel. The remaining layer and coloring were continued to complete the card.
The envelopes for these mini slim line cards are from Taylored Expressions but you could also use the personal check mailing size envelope (#6-3/4). Lining the envelopes with our lovely DSP was a must for these envelopes! This is easy to do with any 6" x 6" piece from our amazing DSP collections - the 6" x 6" 2020-2022 In Colors collection is what I used for these cards! Grab a sheet and line up the bottom equally along the bottom edge of the envelope (the envelope is like 6-1/2" wide) so you'll center it accordingly. Flip it over, holding the flap and the DSP together and trim away. Round the two sides ever so slightly on both sides so it doesn't look like you just trimmed the edge with your trimmer... this makes for a lovely finishing touch and it adds a special touch! Insert the DSP and align where you wish it to be so you have access to the seal. Carefully fold and burnish. Lift the envelope flap and apply glue to the backside of the DSP (not the pattern that will be seen when you open the envelope).
