Welcome to The Joy of Sets Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA and are either starting with me or landing here after visiting the blog of Andrea Tracy-Tucker. I hope that you are enjoying your weekend!
The Joy of Sets is a closed Facebook group full of papercrafters who love to stamp and create beautiful things whether it is cards, 3D projects, or scrapbooking. The best part of the group is that we share the love of using all of our stamping supplies from any company whether it's new or old. If you need some crafting mojo with your supplies, this is a group you should check out! And there's several group members who will be hopping every month throughout the year!
It's so hard to believe that May is finally here!!! So it's only fitting that the theme this month is FLORAL. So sit back with a cuppa and enjoy the floral projects that we're all about to share!
Nothing like having fun making some monochromatic cards for some happy mail that I need to get out. With the floral theme, I opted to go the soft and subtle route and actually made two cards! The Soft Sea Foam card bases are vertical top folding. The focal point of each card is the die cut background... both are different and both have florals in them!
The Jubilee Beauty dies have two background dies which you can run through your die cutting machine twice to create the background which is adhered to coordinating layers with a Fine Tip Glue Pen. The above card has an open center which I chose to separate with a band of Vellum cardstock wrapped with Whisper White Baker's Twine which was tied off with a bow. The heat embossed sentiment and sentiment label die are from the So Sentimental Bundle. With the embossed sentiment and twine, a Whisper White layer adds a nice extra touch. The pearls were added to the flower centers in the background and the sentiment label which was adhered to the card front with dimensionals.
The inside was layered to ccoordinate with the card front. And a Jubilee Beauty die was used for the correspondence panel. Stamping the envelope with the flowers used for the card front makes a nice sneak peek for the recipient as to what is inside.

And the background die was used to create the bottom edge of the correspondence layer.
The envelope was stamp with a Good Morning Magnolia sentiment in Soft Sea Foam.
The above card used the other background die! The Timeless Tropical sentiment panel was created for a previous project, but it wasn't used so it had gone into my stack of "things to use one day" pile on my craft table. The color of the ink (Saddle Brown Stazon) was the reason for using Soft Sea Foam as the cardbase... then So Saffron was chosen for the Birthday Jubilee yellow flowers which I fussy cut instead of using the die. Who doesn't love yellow flowers, right? My favorite part was changing the color of the gorgeous Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon to Soft Sea Foam with the Soft Sea Foam Dark Stampin' Blends Marker.
I hope you have been inspired by my projects today. There are several of us participating so be sure to hop around each of the blogs to see all the amazing "love" inspiration. I know you don't want to miss any creative inspiration... so up next is Annette Ball!
