There is a color challenge at the Global Design Project that just called my name this week. The colors at #GDP241 are so me and I just couldn't resist participating in the challenge.
The Path of Petals Stamp Set, the Ornate Layers Dies and the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder came together nicely for this project. I hope that it inspires you!
I have some concrete plaques in my laundry room that I see everyday that inspired me to throw in the color of Crumb Cake to the card. The plaque states "The Signature of God's is Written in Flowers"... definitely a reason to make someone smile especially on a special day, right? The Path of Petals florals have a vintage feel and the Old World Paper texture adds a lovely texture to coordinate with their detail.
Stamping the sentiment in Pretty Peacock onto Whisper White and then embossing it followed by sponging it in Crumb Cake reminds me of an old scroll... or some old love letters that have been tucked away for decades allowing future generations to read of the love of long ago. The flowers and leaves were stamped in Pretty Peacock, Soft Sea Foam and Blushing Bride onto a Whisper White panel that was custom die cut with my favorite die from the Ornate Layers Dies. A full size vellum die cut from this die was used a backdrop layer. The sentiment was stamped in Pretty Peacock, die cut with a Stitched Rectangles Die and embossed with the Old World Paper embossing folder. Linen Thread was wrapped around all the layers and tied off with a bow to the left of the sentiment. Pearls were added as a finishing touch to this card made for special couple.
I hope that this card has inspired to consider finding a color challenge to inspire you with some of your cards. Inspiration is everywhere! And while you're at it, don't forget to check out the weekly challenges over at the Global Design Project.
