Thanks for visiting the May 2020 edition of the Third Thursdays Blog Hop! So are you ready for summer, yet?!? I cannot believe that June is just around the corner! This past month has been like a whirlwind with how fast it has gone by! Speaking of such, can you believe that we're almost to the end of the 2019-20 Annual Catalog sales period and that the 2020-21 Annual Catalog will be live in just under two weeks?!? I can't!!! Time sure flies so today's blog hop is just perfect for this fun changeover time! So sit back and enjoy the inspirations on today's blog hop for some Retiring and/or Sneak Peek Mix and Match ideas!!!
Everything is coming up daisies here in my little corner of the world today! There is nothing like sharing a little sunshine on a dreary, overcast day here in NW Ohio! With the 2018-20 In Colors leaving soon and the 2020-22 In Colors, I couldn't resist showcasing these amazing colors together!
Such lovely colors for daisies don't you agree?!? Inspired by the lovely Emma Goddard, the backgrounds for the retiring In Colors are watercolor washes on Thick Whisper White cardstock except for Lovely Lipstick which was done on the Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. The sentiment panels are my favorite die cut in the new Ornate Layers Dies. The sentiments are from my favorite sentiment stamp set that is retiring... Seriously the Best. Did you notice that the Lovely Lipstick sentiment is different?!? It's from the amazing Share Sunshine PDF Download so you can print it out onto Whisper White cardstock as often as you'd like after purchasing it - just please do not share as 100% of the proceeds will benefit two organizations that are working hard during the pandemic! And, yes, the panel is also cut using the same die... it is just customized to fit the size of the sentiment.
Give a nice big welcome to Cinnamon Cider, Bumblebee, Just Jade, Magenta Madness, and Misty Moonlight! I mentioned earlier this week to some demo friends that I wouldn't be creating anything with the new In Colors until I could get the inks as I couldn't create without the inks! Well, I guess I spoke too soon, didn't I?!? This amazing layout is so easy to highlight the cardstock! The embossed backgrounds made a lovely substitution for the watercolor washes, don't you think?!? The new Old World Paper 3D Embossing Paper which will be available to customers on June 3, 2020, is so ah-mazing and perfect for coordinating with the daisies!!! And, of course, after glueing all the layers down... I thought that torn edges instead of straight edges would have been perfect! So I bet you can't guess what I'll be doing next week... yep, making daisy cards with torn edges!!! But wait... did you notice the sentiment?! It comes from the new upcoming Tasteful Touches stamp set! It is part of an amazing bundle/Suite that you will love... if you love fonts and textures! **swoon**
All the daisies were made identically... three layers of Whisper White cardstock
using the Medium Daisy Punch. The centers were stamped in Pineapple Punch
using the daisy stamp from Daisy Lane and the centers were punched out using
a 1/2" Circle Punch. Each circle was rubbed under with the Bone Folder
to soften the cardstock fibers to make them rounded.
A Mini Stampin' Dimensional was added to the center then it was applied
to the centers of the fluffed daisies. And there's nothing like a daisy assembly line
to make the process quicker and easier...
Can you guess how many daisies there were in this stack?!?
And as you know the inside of the card is just as important as the card front. Keeping with the daisy theme, I used the negative from one of the punched daisies as a stencil for the bottom corner. Pineapple Punch was sponged lightly into the corner of each of the cards followed by the stamping of the Seriously the Best sentiment.
I hope that my project has inspired you in some way today. Please continue along the blog hop for additional inspiration! My friend Anne Marie is up next and believe me she's got a beauty!
