Welcome to The Joy of Sets Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA and are either starting with me or landing here after visiting the blog of Alejandra Gomez. I hope that you are enjoying your Easter weekend!
The Joy of Sets is a closed Facebook group full of papercrafters who love to stamp and create beautiful things whether it is cards, 3D projects, or scrapbooking. The best part of the group is that we share the love of using all of our stamping supplies from any company whether it's new or old. If you need some crafting mojo with your supplies, this is a group you should check out! And there's several group members who will be hopping every month throughout the year!
There's nothing like celebrating those we hold dear to our hearts once a year when a special day comes along... so, this month's Birthdays theme should inspire you to share the love of papercrafts during these challenging times around the world by spreading a little sunshine when it's someone's special day. So enjoy the inspiration as we all share our fun projects!
Today's card was created for my niece who recently had a birthday. Her birthday is a special day to me because that special day so many years ago made me an auntie. And those of you who are aunts and uncles can understand that same feeling, too. Sheer happiness!
I fell in love with the CI#75 color palette and knew that the Parcels & Petals floral rows would be perfect for incorporating all of the colors... and then I remembered this month's JOSTTT016 challenge and incorporated two rows of the challenge (Die Cut | Ink Blending | Fussy Cut and Ribbon | Ink Blending | Fussy Cut)! So this card was created thanks to the inspiration from two different challenges!
The negative of the Stitched Nested Rectangle die was ink blended with Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody and Melon Mambo and made the perfect frame for the heat embossed row of flowers from Parcels & Petals. The floral row was watercolored with a damp Aqua Painter. The sentiment was heat embossed, ink blended and fussy cut then tucked behind die cut opening.
A double wrapping of White Baker's Twine tied off in a bow was the finishing touch.
The inside and envelope were stamped to compliment the card front.
I hope you have been inspired by my project today. There are several of us participating so be sure to hop around each of the blogs to see all the amazing birthday projects. I know you don't want to miss any creative inspiration... so up next is Fiona Whitehead!
