Using the sketch from FMS431 and the colors from GDP237 was an amazing combination for my heart today. Last week was so emotional for me that I needed some crafting time to help lift my spirits. So I started by wetting a half a sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and added a few drops of Mint Macaron ink onto it similar to the shape and size of the leaf die from Nature's Thoughts (I keep hearing whisperings of it being in the new upcoming 2020-21 Annual Catalog!)...
As it dried, I noticed that the color had split showing the original colors that created this color that I love so!
I decided to add a few more drops of ink after the watered down paper had dried.
This actually made the drops truer to the color for the color challenge.
The separation of colors added a bit of sunshine (yellow) and reflection (blue)
to the design naturally... so I'm hoping that GDP will love this bit of color artistry.
As the watercolor paper dried naturally, the other elements were stamped and die cut. The leaf, butterfly and flower were 2nd generation stamped with Mint Macaron, Night of Navy and Melon Mambo onto Whisper White cardstock and die cut. The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut. The intricate Night of Navy die cut was threaded with Linen Thread and tied off with a bow. All elements were adhered to the watercolored layer with liquid glue. A mini glue dot was added underneath the butterfly wing to keep it lifted through its journey through snail mail. The watercolored layer was then adhered to the vertical top folding Crumb Cake cardbase.
The inside is just as important as the front, so the leaf was colored with the aqua painter and stamped onto the remaining half of the piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. And while this was drying, I duplicated this same technique on the front of the envelope and the envelope flap. Once dry, the Night of Navy sentiment was stamped.
