Give me a stamp pad, an ink refill and an aqua painter... and I'm a happy stamper!
Throw in an amazing die (or die cut) and some card stock
and I'm in heaven!
Better yet, make the ink and card stock color coordinating...
and I'm floating on the clouds!
The Tasteful Textures Bundle is an amazing set with wonderful sentiments, fonts and textured elements. I am first and foremost a designer at heart... dating back to my love of architecture and interior design. Each element has a purpose and I always create with purpose along with the recipient in mind.
Starting with the die, I played with my first cut to determine the size of the layers.
The selected colors were some of my all-time favorites. And generation stamping is usually a background that I love to create so the card base and layers were quick to stamp.
The vertical top folding Sahara Sand card base was off stamped with the textile weave stamp.
The Pool Party card layer was off stamped in Pool Party with the decorative pattern in the center and the four corners.
Then the fun began!
Watercoloring with the die cut as a stencil!
Using a DAMP Aqua Painter, paint the die cut openings directly onto the stamped layer
for the center medallion.
But the watercoloring didn't stop there...
It was continued in the corners of the die cut panel...
And the inside panels!!!
And the envelope!
Attention to the inside of the card and the envelope are always very important aspects in my card projects. Plus there always need to be room to write.... here the top panel will be adhered to the inside after the note to the recipient is handwritten. And if you haven't fallen in love with the amazing envelopes that wrap up our handmade creations, yet, then I will tell you... you're missing out and so are your recipients. If you love stationary... you'll love the smooth vellum touch beneath your fingers!
But before I forget... the finishing touches to the card front are musts, if you have the time.
Embossing the sentiment, adding a touch of linen thread and, of course, pearls!
And, yes, even coloring the adhesive foam strips with a color-coordinating
Stampin' Blends Marker is another special hidden touch.
I hope this project has given you some inspiration to get creative with your projects and to think about what you couldn't live without when it comes to your own creativity. Mine are all in bold, italics above! Now, hop along with me, Angie McKenzie, to see more Wednesday inspirations from my amazing friends Around the World.
