Welcome to the March 2020 edition of the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA. The theme this month is EASTER!
The January-June 2020 Mini Catalog has some amazing products that can be used year round... and there is an amazing two-page spread that features two of my favorite Spring themed stamp sets. These two Easter themed stamp sets can be used well beyond Spring just by adding different sentiments! Today's project features the beautiful
Easter Promise stamp set.
Any day now these cheerful
crocuses of yellow, purple and white should be popping up in my yard as reminders of the upcoming Easter celebrations. So why not share their beauty on a card created to share the Easter message?
The
crocus represents the return of Spring... so having it in this amazing stamp set is even more meaningful! And with the spice Saffron actually is derived from the saffon crocus... So Saffron was the perfect color for this card, don't you agree?!? And since the blooms can often be found in meadows... and along the
alpine tundra, Mossy Meadow and Highland Heather were also used. These colors were also swimming in my head because of this amazing
Colour INKspiration Challenges #73 photo so everything was perfect for my mojo!
The
Painted Labels Dies made the perfect recessed frame backdrop for this lovely arrangement of three crocuses which is so full of symbolism for Christians (
the three crosses on Calvary during Jesus' crucifixion and the number of days that passed before His resurrection). Stamp the image in VersaMark onto a layer of Whisper White and heat emboss with
Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder. Watercolor the blooms with a
damp, small tip Aqua Painter using So Saffron and Highland Heather inks for the blooms and Mossy Meadow ink for the leaves. Die cut the embossed watercolor layer when dry with the two largest
Stitched Rectangle Dies to create the outer edge which will float above the recessed panel. The
Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon was wrapped around the watercolor frame and tied off with a bow. The gold embossed sentiment was fussy cut and adhered to the ribbon with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Adhere the embossed center panel to a Mossy Meadow layer with liquid glue. Adhere the embossed frame panel with Foam Adhesive Strips. Emboss the So Saffron layer with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder in two opposite directions to create the textile layer. Adhere to a So Saffron vertical card base. Adhere the Mossy Meadow layer with liquid glue as shown.
The remnants from the embossed die cutting create a lovely border for the inside!
Stamp the image in Mossy Meadow onto Whisper White cardstock. Stamp the sentiment in VersaMark and heat emboss with gold powder. Adhere the framed embossed remnants with liquid adhesive. Layer onto Mossy Meadow and So Saffron layers which compliment the card front as shown.
And we mustn't forget the envelope! Stamp the front and the envelope flap with the crocus image in Mossy Meadow for a lovely sneak peek of what's inside.
I hope this card has inspired you to get creative with these amazing products for your cards. You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie.
