The Stamparatus was used to stamp the large, detailed image with VersaMark onto Shimmery White cardstock (NOTE: The wood mount stamp would be used upside down placing the cardstock on the top followed by a piece of scrap paper before running your hand completely over the image for complete coverage). Thankfully, a second inking wasn't needed; however, if it was, the Stamparatus would have made that very simple to do! Next, it was heat embossed with white embossing powder and then watercolored with Daffodil Delight (largest rose and smaller floral centers), Petal Pink (peonies), Melon Mambo (anemone), Old Olive (leaves), Mossy Meadow (shading for the leaves), Blueberry Bushel (forget-me-nots) and Pretty Peacock (eucalyptus type foliage)- of course, this flower lover is only guessing what these gorgeous blooms are!
Originally, the background was intended as a card front full of inspiration for a card challenge; however, the elements weren't working completely with my mojo, so I did the unimaginable..... I cut it... and then I die cut it! Whew!!! My creative mojo was overflowing with possibilities now. You will see that I took some creative liberty and also flipped the blooms totally around to work for this card! The die from Painted Labels Dies fit beautifully across the two thirds of the image.
Highlighting the peony blooms (in my mind's eye) was the focus for the card layout. The sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder on a piece of Old Olive card stock which was strategically placed to highlight the embossed edge die cut. The Petal Pink layer was embossed with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder. The vellum overlay was added as an afterthought to highlight the softness of the blooms.
The inside was designed to compliment the card front with similar layers. The Positive Thoughts sentiment was stamped in Old Olive over the off stamped Petal Pink floral image.
I hope that you have enjoyed today's watercoloring project. There's nothing like the feel of ink flowing under your fingertips. Now it's time for you to get inky and have fun creating!
Have a blessed day!
