Welcome to The Joy of Sets Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA and are either starting with me or landing here after visiting the blog of Alejandra Gomez. I hope that you are enjoying your new year!
The Joy of Sets is a closed Facebook group full of papercrafters who love to stamp and create beautiful things whether it is cards, 3D projects, or scrapbooking. There's a rather large number of Stampin' Up!® enthusiasts who share the love of all things Stampin' Up! - both old and new - within the group. And there's several group members who will be hopping every month throughout the year!
There's nothing like a little something new to try after the holidays, is there? Well, this month's theme is Something New - any company or product - so I am highlighting some of the 2020 Sale-a-Bration items that can be earned for free until March 31st!
The Lovely Lily Pad stamp set - a Reversibles (patent pending) like Cup of Cheer! - was the first SAB stamp set that was on my list followed by the coordinating Lily Pad Dies and the Stone 3D Embossing Folder (in the Power of Hope bundle). Nothing like one of my favorite pictures of my boy from almost ten years ago to make these INCREDIBLE free items must haves for me!
A watercolor wash with an Aqua Painter and Pool Party ink was created on a sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper cut to 3-3/4" x 5". The lily was stamped in Flirty Flamingo - background is 2nd generation, outline is 1st generation - onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut. The lily pad was stamped in Old Olive onto Whisper White cardstock and fussy cut (or use the coordinating die!).
The Lily Pad Die that reminds me of water drops was used to create the double rows behind the lily. The Whisper White die cut was cut in half with one piece directly applied to the Pool Party ink pad for color (a Dark Pool Party Blends Marker would also work). The lily pad and the row border were adhered with liquid glue. The lily pad was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. The Beautiful Moments sentiment was stamped in Pool Party onto Whisper White cardstock, die cut with a Stitched Nested Labels Die and adhered with liquid glue and a dimensional. A Whisper White Baker's Twine bow was added as a finishing touch.
The Gray Granite layer was ran through an embossing machine with the Stone 3D Embossing Folder and adhered to Pool Party vertical top folding card base at an angle with liquid glue. The overlapping corners were trimmed with scissors. The watercolor layer was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. LOL - did I use enough?!?
The inside features more die cuts from the Lily Pad Dies which were colored with the brush ends of the Dark Flirty Flamingo and Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends. The die cuts were adhered onto Shimmery White cardstock with liquid glue which was adhered to the inside cardbase.
I hope you have been inspired by my project today. There are several of us participating so be sure to hop around each of the blogs to see all the amazing "new" inspiration. I know you don't want to miss any creative inspiration... so up next is Amanda Farlinger!
