Welcome to The Joy of Sets Anything Goes Christmas Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA and are either starting with me or landing here after visiting the blogs of Andrea Parr or Libby Fens. I hope that you are beginning to get in the mood for this lovely season!
The Joy of Sets is a closed Facebook group created by the lovely Fiona Whitehead from England. The group is full of Stampin' Up!® enthusiasts who share the love of all things Stampin' Up! - both old and new. This month's theme is Anything Goes - any company or product - so I am highlighting the Toile Christmas Bundle!
Today's card is full of shimmer, sparkle and reflections for this special holiday season. There is nothing like seeing a cardinal as they are reminders to so many of us that someone in heaven is thinking of us. So when we see one on snowy day or around Christmas it is even more special as warm memories flood our hearts.
The 5-1/2" square Garden Green card base is layered with graduating layers of Toile Tidings DSP, Copper Foil and Shimmery White cardstock. The center Shimmery White was die cut with a Frosted Frames die. The Cardinal was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Shimmery White, die cut with its coordinating die and colored with the Real Red Stampin' Blends Combo Markers and the Light Cajun Craze Blends Marker. The branch was likewise stamped, die cut and colored with the Dark Real Red, Light Shaded Spruce, Light Mossy Meadow and Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers. The snowflakes on the center panel and the branch berries were highlighted with Shimmery Crystal Effects and Ice Stampin' Glitter while the cardinal's eye sparkles with a touch of the Shimmery Crystal Effects. The sentiment was stamped in Celestial Copper Delicata metallic ink. All layers were adhered with liquid glue except for the cardinal which was adhered with mini glue dots and liquid glue (just the feet).
The inside is layered to compliment the card front with the sentiment stamped in Garden Green ink with the swirls stamped in Delicata Celestial Copper. The Christmas Gleaming holly was stamped in Celestial Copper Delicata, colored with the Mossy Meadow and Real Red Stampin' Blends Marker Combos, and then fussy cut. All layers with adhered with liquid glue along with the holly berries leaving the leaves to fall as they wished.
