Thanks for visiting the November 2019 edition of the Third Thursdays Blog Hop! With the change of the time and the weather, so many of us are thankful for this time of cozy gatherings and longer nights. There is nothing like comfort food with football on the big screens on these colder autumn days. Our family has always had an afternoon filled with football as the cooks/bakers were in the kitchen chatting and prepping the feast to be devoured mid afternoon as we counted our many blessing for being together. So sit back and enjoy the goodies that your eyes will feast on as today's blog hop is all about this wonderful season of Gratitude and Gatherings!!!
My dad's mom always used a certain pan to cook the cornbread in for the holidays... and it is the inspiration of this card that will be going the family that we'll be gathering with next week for Thanksgiving!
Nothing like thinking I had the Tin Tile embossing folder... and if I do, I couldn't find it for this card so I did a quick fix... I created my own tin tile! Using the smallest square from the Stitched Shapes Dies it was cut a dozen times with Basic Black cardstock and embossed with the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder. The squares were then pressed directly onto the Crumb Cake ink pad for some aging shading and sponged with Celestial Copper Delicata Ink.
The squares were adhered together with Tear 'n Tape before being adhered to the Basic Black cardbase. The adorable turkey was stamped in StazOn onto Shimmery White cardstock and watercolored with Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Real Red, Pretty Peacock, Crumb Cake and Memento Jet Black ink pads. The sentiment was stamped in Celestial Copper Delicata Ink. Holiday Rhinestones were added to the center tail feathers for some additional sparkle.
The inside sentiment was stamped to compliment the card front and the wheat spray had to be used to tie everything together.
I hope that my project has inspired you in some way today. Jan Musselman is up next and I am sure you will love what she's created, so please continue along the blog hop for additional inspiration!
