Thanks for visiting the October 2019 edition of the Third Thursdays Blog Hop! Lots of local festivals are ongoing here in NW Ohio and my mind has been in creative overdrive. There is nothing like getting inspiration from handmade crafts during this time of year. So keep your eyes alert as today's blog hop is all about this fun-filled season that starts with an "H" - Halloween and Harvest!!!
Living in an area filled with farms and farms being sold for the expansion of homesites, one can usually find a handmade piece of barnwood furniture or some home decor pieces recycled from old galvanized barn siding while visiting locally owned shops or local festivals.
Today's set of cards is a combination of several items that I first started seeing this spring. Who doesn't love daisies, right?! The flower that makes almost everyone smile. **BIG SMILE** I cannot tell you how many galvanized pieces of artwork that I have had to turn a blind eye that were daisies... if I had a penny for every time I wanted one and passed it up, my mason jar of coins would be overflowing with pennies (not just pocket change)! So why not recreate what I wanted to spread a little fall sunshine?!?
Fall isn't fall without the color combinations of Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Crushed Curry with a sprinkling of Whisper White for crispness.
The Daisy Punch and the 3/4" Circle Punch were used for the daisies. The Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder was used to run all punch cuts through the die cut/embossing machine all at once. The Crumb Cake card base of 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" was scored lengthwise at 4-1/4" to create the square cards. The Early Espresso 4" square layer was embossed with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder after the folder was dabbed with the Crumb Cake ink pad on the raised side.
The daisies were adhered to the 3" square and 3-1/4" square layers with liquid glue. The Country Home sentiment was stamped in Cajun Craze onto Crumb Cake cardstock and fussy cut prior to adhering to the layers. Cajun Craze linen thread was wrapped around twice and tied off with a bow prior to the Early Expresso layer being adhere to the card base front.
I hope that my project has inspired you in some way today. Please continue along the blog hop for additional inspiration!
