Welcome to the September 2019 edition of the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA. The theme this month is CARD/PROJECT KITS!
Lots of Happy is an all inclusive kit in its own reuseable box with enough supplies to make 20 cards (4 each of 5 designs). Gather your favorite adhesives (Stampin' Dimensionals are in the kit!) and your scissors for cutting ribbon to complete the kit. It even comes with an ink spot and acrylic block for stamping the sentiments from its exclusive stamp set! This is definitely a must have kit for anyone!
You're thinking about now that you're not an artist and there's no way you can color these cards, right?! Well, guess what, yes you can!!! Look at the above and below pictures... scribbling is all that you need to do. Scribble in circular motions with the lighter watercolor pencils and then scribble with the darker watercolor pencils for the shading. The MAGIC happens with the Blender Pen. Just apply over the lighter areas first and blend into the darker areas. The Blender Pen will make you think you're using a marker or Aqua Painter. Reapply colors for additional shading, if needed.
COLORING TIPS: Be sure to "clean" the Blender Pen tips whenever you feel you have too much color on the tip. You will be able to apply color to non-colored areas with the tip after several strokes of blending. Enjoy watching the scribbling turn into a masterpiece! And if you're in a time crunch, don't feel like you have to color everything! Pay attention to where the sentiment layers will go... there is no need to color something that will be covered up unless you just love to color! :)
Can you believe that the above coloring turned into this beautiful card?!?
And here's a picture of each design colored and assembled.
ASSEMBLING TIP: If you're not ready to color and assemble all the cards in one afternoon it's ok! Go ahead and punch out all the pieces (except the coloring pieces (I found it easier to color them in tact so they don't get lost) and place them in the corresponding envelopes along with the folded card bases and cut ribbon. Store in the kit box and save for another day to complete as needed. Also the Flirty Flamingo and Lemon Lime Twist watercolor pencils are EXCLUSIVE only to this card kit!!!
I hope these cards have inspired you to use a card kit during the upcoming months for some of your cards. The two upcoming Paper Pumpkin kits (available only in the US and Canada) may be some kits you might want to try! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie. Now it's time to get more inspiration from the other stampers that are part of this Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop by clicking on the list below. You sure don't want to miss any!
