Thanks for visiting the August 2019 edition of the Third Thursdays Blog Hop! School is about to start next week so that means I will be just as busy then as I am now! Hopefully, I will be able to continue with this journal that I have started which documents my blogging inspirations. So today just might be the time for me to show you what I have been doing since today's blog hop is all about Keeping the Memories Alive!!!
I have been a journaler since my diary days back in grade school - and, no, I'm not going to tell you how long ago that was! Not today anyway! LOL Several visits to Windy Gap, North Carolina, during a YoungLife camp back during high school developed my journaling even deeper... looking at journaling from a different perspective. During college, one of my sorority little sisters, journaled the same way, so we bonded with our quote and Bible verse exchanges amongst many other things and even became best roomies/friends where we were pretty much inseparable. Flash forward to married life where I attended a women's conference focused entirely on journaling... and then the journal that I recreated for our son for him to read of him childhood antics one day with his children. So yes, I love to journal...
The Pressed Petals Suite in the Annual Catalog on pp. 72-73 has the perfect size journal for paper crafters. It can be used as a wonderful gift or actually by the crafter themselves like I have today!
Personalizing the front cover of the Pressed Petals Journal with the Hand Lettered Prose Dies and the Making A Difference Stamp Set added the perfect touch to the embossed front cover.
Each letter was die cut three times to stack up for the dimension... chip board would also work if you have some handy without making a purchase. I am sure you can locate something from a package or the back of an old legal pad.
This journal is dedicated to my personal blog and Stampin' Up! Challenge Group so the Capture the Good stamp set was a perfect addition for the front cover.
All of the pages are gorgeous and are actually perforated so they could be used in other medias or even as card fronts, if desired. As you can tell by the stack of photos in the next picture, I have only just begun this process and will probably wind up needing to get another journal or two for all the journaling that I am doing which focuses primarily on my cards and ideas for creating.
There is nothing like being able to use photos that I've taken to be inspired to create cards or projects and then to share them all with you!
I hope that my journal has inspired you in some way today. Please continue along the blog hop for additional inspiration!

Hahaha, great minds think alike, huh? I also featured the Pressed Petals Journal...although I didn't actually do any journaling in it. Thanks for sharing your project :-D
ReplyDeleteLoved your video!!! Great ideas for expanding the pages for a monthly journal vs a docuented photo journal like I've done. It's the perfect size to stick in carry bag or purse! :)
DeleteWow, I love this! Beautifully embellished, Angie.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sarah! I appreciate it. :)
