Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA. This AMAZING group of talented, international Stampin' Up!® demonstrators has a lot of fun in store for the younger readers this month. I hope you enjoy my projects today as we share all sorts of FUN Kids Cards and/or Crafts.
This is a little booklet that I made which contains some fun activities.
The front can be decorated along with the ribbon being added after the walk!
And what does every nature explorer need while looking for things on the Scavenger Hunt list?!? Binoculars, of course!
Those of you with an abundance of cardboard toilet paper rolls can use those if you'd like, but this papercrafter mom decided to make some custom colored ones!
They're really simple to make. Here's what you'll need:
- Cardstock cut to 4-1/4" x 11" (x2) (Mossy Meadow was used here)
- Ribbon (Braided Linen Trim was used here) cut to a length that would wrap around your neck and hang down to a desired length
- Multipurpose Liquid Glue
- Tear & Tape Adhesive
- DSP (See a Silhouette was used here) cut to 4" x 5" (x2)
Next roll the rhombus shape into a cylinder by taking one point to the other side and roll.
Release and glue one side of the diagonal then roll again.
Being sure to adhere the final section with additional glue.
Attach the ribbon securely with Tear & Tape Adhesive prior to adhering the DSP likewise.
What else does a nature explorer need? A bike flag (just in case biking is an option)!
Tape three paper straws together with Scotch Tape and adhere a 4" x 12" piece of DSP with Tear & Adhesive. Add some strands of ribbon for some additional fun.
So is there anything else?! Of course, there is! After all the excitement outside, now it's time to make some inside memories with a game board! It's a memory game on one side and tic-tac-toe on the other!
Another simple thing to make. Here's what you'll need:
- Thick Whisper White Cardstock cut to 6" x 6"
- Night of Navy Cardstock cut to 6-1/4" x 6-1/4"
- See a Silhouette DSP cut to 6-1/4" x 6-1/4"
- Night of Navy Ink Pad
- Aqua Painter
- 1-1/2" Circle Punch (*)
- 1-5/8" strips of DSP, Night of Navy and Thick Whisper White cardstock
- Cardboard backing from an old note pad
- Paper Snips
- Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive
- Cat Punch
- Dog Builder Punch
Punch out 18 cardboard circles, 18 Whisper White circles and 18 DSP circles. Position the cardboard on the Whisper White square to assist with lining up the tic-tac-toe grid. Paint the lines with the Aqua Painter and Night of Navy ink. Set aside to dry.
Punch out 9 Dog heads and 9 Cat heads using Night of Navy. Adhere to the Whisper White circles and trim with Paper Snips as needed. Adhere to Cardboard circles to DSP circles. Adhere Whisper White circles to Cardboard circles.
Adhere DSP square to Night of Navy square. Adhere Whisper White square to Night of Navy square. Time to play for hours!
And before you wonder... yes, the gameboard and the booklet fit nicely in a quart size Ziploc bag which makes them great for storage and travel!
