Magnolia blooms and leaves are something that I hold dear to my heart having grown up in the South... they are everywhere from landscapes to floral arrangements to home decor. You cannot help but smile when your senses are exposed the beauty of this strong, massive tree. So why not share my love for magnolias with you today during our Demonstrator Training Blog Hop?!?
It is so wonderful to be a part of Kylie's Demonstrator Training Support Program. This group provides such an invaluable amount of training which helps demonstrators in this group with their Stampin' Up!® businesses. We receive training not only from Kylie, but her amazing guest speakers - many of whom are top global Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators - and the members themselves. There is nothing like being inspired to do great things!
Yesterday was Mother's Day here in the States. My momma is your typical Southern Belle... a strong, beautiful, caring, loving, Christian woman, and I was blessed to spend our first Mother's Day together in over ten years. It is wonderful to have her so close to me again and I just knew I had to use the new Good Morning Magnolia stamp set for this special day.
I started off by creating a watercolor wash background onto Shimmery White cardstock. With my Aqua Painter and a few drops from my Pretty Peacock (my favorite NEW 2019-2021 In Color) ink refill onto the inside lid of my ink pad, I was able to see the color I was looking for before applying it to the cardstock. Using the Magnolia Memories die as a guide, I was able to know exactly where I would apply the wash.
The watercolor wash panel was adhered to a Mossy Meadow panel. The bloom and stem was adhered to the watercolor panel with liquid glue while leaving the leaves free to fall as they may. The sentiment stamped in Mossy Meadow onto Shimmery White cardstock was adhered to a piece of coordinating cardstock with liquid glue. The Mossy Meadow Linen Thread was wrapped around several times then tied with a bow as the finishing touch to the raised sentiment panel. These panels were adhered to the cardbase with Stampin' Dimensionals.
For the inside, a smaller watercolor wash was done. The perfect sentiment expressing my love for my Momma was stamped in Mossy Meadow over the completely dried background.
