#JOSTTT005 Design Team Inspirations - May 2019

Today is the Fifth Challenge over at The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge!  I am thoroughly enjoying being a Design Team Member with this talented bunch of crafters from around the globe!  We are all members of The Joy of Sets Papercraft Facebook Group that is full of stampers sharing cards created with current and retired Stampin' Up!® stamp sets as well as stamp sets from many other companies.

For this month's challenge designed by Susan Simpson, you can select any three of the design elements in a row on the board going in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal direction.  I have chosen the upper left diagonal row consisting of Green, Tree, Emboss.

Nothing like the creative process that I went through with this card!  When I decided which tree out of my numerous tree stamp sets I was going to use, it didn't take long to know what I was going to do for the emboss portion of the challenge.  The hardest decision was the shade of green to pick... and then I looked outside and knew it had to be a Spring shade... well, let's just say a subtle shade... subtle like the blades of grass peaking through the wilted fallen leaves just weeks ago.

Replicated shapes and textures were fun to connect...
The shapes of the petals from the embossing folder are identical to the tree leaves!
The stitched circle around the tree is similar to the stitching found in the large circle.
From a far, the braided trim resembles the swirls of the middle circle.

The Swirly Frames circles were fussy cut though the Layering Circles dies
could have been used while the tree circle was punched.
Using the negative of the punch made for smooth stamping with the Stamparatus.
The Stamparatus was also a must for the crispness of the Swirly Frame circle images.
Three levels of Stampin' Dimensionals added depth to the card front
while the pearls (colored with a Blends marker) were the finishing touch!

I hope that today's project has inspired you to participate in The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge, #JOSTTT005.  Please be sure to pop over to receive more inspiration from the other design team members and I look forward to seeing your entry (entries) on the blog!

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world.
Have a blessed day!
