My lovely Aussie demonstrator friend, Tania Tobin, and I have teamed up together to expand your creative inspirations - well, INKspirations as I call it! We hope that you will enjoy these special monthly posts as much as we enjoy sharing this time with you! This month we are focusing on Birthdays.
One can never have too many birthday cards to send out, right?! I love making birthday cards... especially feminine ones. But today, especially since I am the only female in my household (including all the pets), I thought I'd challenge myself with a more masculine card.
The amazing Florentine Filigree stamp set and Florentine die is the highlight! The minute I saw this bundle in the Occasions catalog, I loved it. The medallion reminded me of a stained glass window that I saw during one of Spring Break vacations several years ago.
Cut the Night of Navy card base to make a vertical top folding card. Cut the Night of Navy cardstock layer to fit the outline of the Florentine die (Imperial measurement: 4" x 5-1/4") and die cut, keeping all the pieces.
Dab an Embossing Buddy lightly across a 3" square of Vellum cardstock. Stamp the medallion stamp in VersaMark ink onto the Vellum cardstock and heat emboss with Copper Embossing Powder. Cut with a circle die when cool to the touch and trim closer with Paper Snips, if desired. Use Blends Markers (as they are vibrant in color and dry quickly) to color the back side of the vellum. Once dry, apply liquid glue lightly to the backside of the medallion center spokes and adhere to a smaller Night of Navy circle (match to fit).
After doing a step needed for the inside panel(*), adhere the Florentine cut out to the cardbase with a light application of liquid glue. Place the medallion as shown and adhere the matching cutout pieces creating a smooth base for adhering the medallion. Adhere the medallion with liquid glue.
Heat emboss the sentiment on a 1" x 4" strip of Vellum. Adhere to the underside of the medallion lining up to the right edge of the die cut layer.
And don't forget to stamp the envelope to match with either the medallion or the sentiments for that finishing touch.
I hope that this has inspired you to use your dies and/or Blends Markers! Now, let's pop over for some more inspiration across the waters with Tania (click here)! She has quite a fabulous idea for you... she made it for her daughter so I know you'll love it.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world!

For the inside, prepare the left margin using the front die cut as a template(*) for adhering the pieces with liquid glue onto Whisper White cardstock. On a scrap piece of Whisper Whisper stamp the inside sentiments and cut with scissors once cool to the touch. Adhere to the inside panel with liquid glue. Adhere this panel to the bottom inside of the card base with liquid glue applied strategically behind the cut outs.
And don't forget to stamp the envelope to match with either the medallion or the sentiments for that finishing touch.
