Nature's INKspirations

Hope Sees Us Through...

Inspiration is everywhere... even in your kitchen drawer thanks to Jennifer McGuire!  Prior to the latest popularity of the Floating Frame technique, Press 'n Seal showed up in the making of Stamped See-Through Cards using the same basic technique with a twist by overlapping the die cuts and gluing them together!

Isn't this cool to be able to see through this card?

Using the Hold On to Hope stamp set (designed by my all-time favorite demonstrator Brandy Cox as a $1 Million Sales Achiever) along with the matching Cross of Hope framelits makes this technique shine!

Tranquil Tide and Berry Burst Stampin' Write Markers (retiring 2017-2019 In Colors) were used to color the vine image.  Stamp onto Whisper White cardstock being sure to "huff" on the stamp prior to stamping as the markers dry quickly.  Repeat this about sixteen times.  And while you're at it... off stamp (stamp a second time without reinking) an extra three or four.

After cutting the stamped images with the coordinating die, the fun really begins.  On a single piece of Whisper White cardstock that is the size of the card front you wish to make, arrange the stamped die cut pieces in an overlapping design that covers the entire card front.  Place a piece of Press n' Seal over the design and press down with your fingers all the way down to the cardstock base until all areas are clinging to the plastic.  Flip over and trim off all the excess wrap, etc.

Gently lift the cardstock back and adhere small amounts of liquid glue to all overlapping pieces.  This is what will keep your card front together.  After drying, flip over and score the top of your card front at 1/2".  You might need to do this several times if you have more than one layer in this section.  Slowly fold this section towards you and begin removing the Press n' Seal.

The Thick Whisper White card base is your standard top folding vertical size with a 1/2" front (Imperial size for this card: 4-1/4" x 6" and scored at 1/2").  Adhere the see-through card front lining up the scored edge to the bottom edge of the 1/2" card front base.

Stamp the front sentiment in Berry Burst and die cut with the Rectangle Stitched framelits.  Die cut two additional rectangles - one to adhere to the back of the front and the other to the inside card base for the inside sentiment.  Off stamp the vine in the corners as shown around the sentiment.  Stamp your inside sentiment.  Adhere rectangles with liquid glue being sure to line them all up the same for each layer.  Adhere pearls.

This card took awhile to create (2+ hours), but it was worth every minute as it is going to a special friend who is battling cancer... and I am sure she will appreciate it!

If you love this technique, please be sure to stop by again on Monday to see what else I've made with the help of this awesome kitchen plastic!

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world!
Have a blessed day!

    1. Thanks so much, Christine! May I suggest that you try this with one of our silicone sheets or window sheets over the piece of cardstock? That just might be an alternative for you... glueing from the top down vs the reverse? Let me know if you try it! I'd love to see what you create! :)
