#JOSTTT003 Design Team Inspirations - March 2019

Today is the Third Challenge over at The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge!  I am thoroughly enjoying being a Design Team Member with this talented bunch of crafters from around the world!  We are all members of the The Joy of Sets Facebook Group which is full of stampers sharing cards created with current and retired Stampin' Up!® stamp sets as well as stamp sets from other companies.

For this month's lovely challenge designed by Jane Allmark, you can select any three of the design elements in a row on the board going in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal direction.  I have chosen Green, Nature, Pearls.

The Garden Green card base was my choice for the green.  The Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is the perfect nature aspect...
along with the pearls on the vellum wrapped sentiment banner.

After running the Shimmery White layer through the Big Shot with the Country Floral DTIEF, I ran it through again with a Stitched Shapes circle die.  The square stitched layer was die cut next to cover up the circle on the main layer.  The smallest leaf stamp that was stamped in VersaMark in all four corners is from the new 2nd Release Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Painted Seasons.

The center was lightly watercolored with an Aqua Painter using my Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Grapefruit Grove, Balmy Blue and Lemon Lime Twist ink pads.

The sentiment from Amazing Life was stamped in VersaMark and then Garden Green before being embossed with clear embossing powder.  The vellum was wrapped around a strip of Shimmery White cardstock and adhered to the back with Tear 'n Tape Adhesive before the base layer was attached to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals along with the stitched layers.  Linen Thread was wrapped around the banner and tied off with a small bow.

The inside of the card was embossed on all four sides...  I believe this will be something I'll be trying with several other different DTIEFs, too.  And it adds a nice touch to the envelope flap, too.

I hope that today's project has inspired you to participate in The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge, #JOSTTT003.  Please be sure to pop over to receive more inspiration from the other design team members and I look forward to seeing your entry (entries) on the blog!

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world.
Have a blessed day!

  1. Absolutely in love with this card. I never thought of embossing and then punching out a piece before let alone adding colour, I just love it and will have to try it. This embossing folder is something else, first time I used it I was blown away. Just love your card x

  6. I love the part that is flat white framed with the embossing folder, but don't understand, how did you do that?

    1. Karen, I placed the inside layer inside the bottom of the embossing and lined it up just below the black line on the front of the embossing folder. Ran it through the Big Shot and repeat for all the sides. Hope this helps!

    1. Hi Marie! The inside was down by inserting all four sides individually into the DTIEF to just below the straight line at the bottom of the folder. With this being a narrow folder, it worked perfectly! Good luck. :)
