Country Home for 3rd Thursdays Blog Hop - November 2018

Thanks for visiting the November 2018 Edition of the Third Thursdays Blog Hop!  This is a new blog hop recently created by the lovely Kimberley Morris... and you know how I love blog hops so there was no way I could pass on participating with such talented stampers from around the globe.

This month's Gratitude theme is very appropriate for this month of Thanksgiving here in the United States.  I have been itching to use the Country Home stamp set along with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder so what better time than to use it just in time for Thanksgiving!

The Tranquil Tide card base is 4-1/4" x 11" scored in half at 5-1/2".  The Tin Tile DTIEF is the focal background so two additional layers of Crumb Cake (3-1/2" x 5-1/2") and Soft Suede (3-5/8" x 5-1/2") cardstocks were cut to compliment the Very Vanilla textured layer (2-1/4" x 5-1/2").  The front layers were adhered to the card base with liquid glue.

The pewter pitcher from Country Home was stamped in Smoky Slate onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla.  The pitcher was watercolored with an Aqua Painter using ink from the lid (obtained by pressing the pad into lid... you can also use a reinker).  The floral arrangement was stamped in Crumb Cake onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  The arrangement was watercolored the same way as the pitcher using Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, Old Olive and Soft Suede ink pads.  Next Champagne Shimmery Paint was added to the pitcher with the Aqua Painter.  Followed by a second watercolor layer of Smoky Slate to add more depth.

The sentiment was stamped in Tranquil Tide onto a 1-1/2" x 3" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Scraps of the same length were embossed with the Tin Tile DTIEF.  The left side of the sentiment of accentuated with the 1/4" Tranquil Tide Velvet Ribbon to mimic the feel of the cattails in the floral arrangement.  The ribbon was adhered with liquid glue along with the sentiment layer.

The pitcher and floral arrangement were fussy cut when they were dry to the touch.  The pitcher was adhered with liquid glue and the floral arrangement was adhered with two layers of Stampin' Dimensionals.

The inside layers repeated the front layers with the Soft Suede (3-5/8" x 5-1/4") and Crumb Cake (3-1/2" x 5/1/4") being offset to allow for the the Very Vanilla embossed layer (5/8" x 5-1/4")  The 1-1/2" x 1-7/8" sentiment layer was adhered to a second embossed layer measuring 1-1/2" x 2-1/8" with liquid glue.

The Medium Very Vanilla Envelope flap was embossed with the DTIEF to continue the texture theme.

  1. What a gorgeous card! I felt like this set was too "country" for me, but you've made it quite elegant. :-) Thanks for sharing!
