Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop - October 2018

Thank you for joining us for our Demonstrator Training Blog Hop!  We are all part of a training program which has the sole purpose of improving our Stampin' Up!® businesses while learning from top Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators all around the world.  Please be sure to hop all the way around through all the projects on the Blog Hop and... grab yourself a cup of coffee, tea, or water as you enjoy all the creativity and inspiration!

Have you ever started working on something and thought "hmmmm, this reminds me of something"... well, I did that with today's card!  I usually look at nature or a photo for inspiration, but today it all came from my memory.

This is the card I made for our hop today using current Stampin' Up!® Products -

Don't you just love this Santa from the So Santa stamp set?  Cookie baker that I am LOVES this Santa!!!

What do you think about the layers?  Originally there was to be no layers.... it was a flat "mailable" card, but as the cookies were coming to life (the Crumb Cake punched circles with the randomly snipped Early Expresso morsels), the layers developed to help lift the smell of the chocolate chip cookies.  YUM!!!

The sentiment from Star of Light is perfect as Santa always brightens the world as he travels around the world spreading love to all the children (both young and old)... and with reading between the lines "all the world" is representative of this global training group!

The plaid was created on National Card Making Day with the Buffalo Check background stamp inked up with Garden Green and a clear ruler used to guide two Blends Markers (Dark Real Red and Dark Night of Navy).

As everyone knows, Santa has a bit of a twinkle so Clear Wink of Stella was added to his beard, fur trim, and below his feet AFTER Santa was colored with Dark Real Red, Dark Shaded Spruce, Dark Night of Navy, Dark Basic Black and Ivory Blends Markers.  The ground and cookies were colored with the Dark Crumb Cake Blends Marker.  Basic Pearls colored with the Dark Real Red Blends Marker completed the holly berries on Santa's chef hat.

For the inside, a piece of the custom plaid was used to carryover the feel from the front.  The sentiment is from the Timeless Tidings stamp set.

And remember the envelope is just as important to decorate as the card itself... nothing like giving the recipient a little sneak peak of what's inside.

So are you ready to see the color inspirations for this card which will hold the invitation to my Christmas Cookie Exchange?!?

Nothing like my hubby's MacKenzie Tartan cap, my favorite Longaberger® plaid fabric (a napkin  that I cut and raveled), and my homemade chocolate chip cookies in an anniversary Ball jar to inspire me while creating this card...  what has inspired you to create a card?  I would love to hear what it is!

Thank you so much for being part of our blog hop today!  I really hope that you gain lots of ideas and inspiration that will help you create amazing things.  You are currently at my blog - Angie McKenzie.  So check the list below to see who is next on the list.  Make sure you don't miss any!
