Falling for Blended Seasons

Have you noticed that the leaves are already starting to change colors?  If so, then you will probably fall for this exclusive stamp set that will be available to customers in 2 days during the month of August ONLY, while supplies last!!!  I am in LOVE with this exclusive stamp set, Blended Seasons.  I've been watercoloring the floral stamp from the set, but this time I chose to use the falling leaves stamp... isn't it fabulous?!?   **sigh**

This card was created for a local demonstrator Shoebox Card Swap that I participated in last week.  You can click here to read all about the fun cards I got to make at this event!  Do the colors look familiar to you?  I was inspired by the colors of the NEW gorgeous Nature's Twine which coordinates with the Nature's Poem Suite (see pages 142-144 of the 2018-19 Annual Catalog).

The leaves stamp was stamped in Crumb Cake on the Crumb Cake card base and on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock.  Using a damp Aqua Painter, the leaves were watercolored with ink from the lids of the Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove ink pads.  The veins and stems of the leaves were watercolored the same way with Blackberry Bliss.  When coloring with so many ink colors in small spaces...  it is best to have a damp tip; otherwise, you may get a nice watercolor bleed or smear.

While the watercolor was drying, the sentiment was stamped in VersaMark onto Blackberry Bliss cardstock (after it was dusted with an Embossing Buddy) and covered with Grapefruit Grove Stampin' Emboss Powder.  After using the Heat Tool, and the embossing has cooled, you can rub the palm of your hand over the sentiment to remove any excess dust from the Embossing Buddy.  This is something that you will probably want to do when embossing on dark cardstock as the dust is not as  noticeable on light cardstock.

The Shimmery White was adhered to Blackberry Bliss cardstock with liquid glue which was then adhered to the Crumb Cake card base with more liquid glue.  The sentiment layer was also adhered in the same fashion to allow for a tad of wiggle room.  The finishing touch was the Grapefruit Grove Nature's Twine wrapped around the card front and tied in a bow.  A tad of liquid glue was added at strategic places along the top edge of the sentiment for precise placement of the twine.

The leaves stamp was stamped once again in Crumb Cake onto Shimmery White cardstock.  The Shimmery White cardstock was adhered to the inside of the card with Snail Adhesive ran only across the top.

Oh, and don't forget to stamp your envelope!  This is always something I have enjoyed from the very beginning of my stampin' days... stamping on the front of the envelope and the outside flap can give the recipient a sneak peak of what's inside!

I absolutely love these Color Your Seasons products that are currently available to demonstrators and available to customers in two days!  It is such a versatile set and will get a lot of year-round use!
