My son's intervention specialist has not been at school for about three weeks now and we do not know when she will be returning... time to make her another card is what my boy said! When I saw this week's challenge at What Will You Stamp (WWYS #158), I knew this stamp set would be perfect for this special lady in our lives.
The inspiration for my card came from two amazing stampers Dawn Olchefske and Charlet Mallett.
I used my favorite coloring technique - watercoloring with the Aqua Painter. The flowers were stamped in VersaMark ink onto the smoother side of Canson XL Cold Press Watercolor Paper and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss® powder. After the embossing cooled, I colored them with ink squeezed onto the lids of my Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi Classic Stampin' pads™. After naturally drying, each of the four flowers were fussy cut with three of them being layered onto the 3rd largest circle in the Stitched Shapes thinlits attaching them with Mini Glue Dots®. The double layered sentiments (die cut with Melon Mambo cardstock) were adhered with Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue. The stamped sentiment was stamped with Wild Wasabi. One of the Petal Pair embossing folders was used for the center panel of Whisper White cardstock. The card base is Blushing Bride cardstock with a horizontal strip of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. The fourth flower was adhered with Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue on the inside panel of Whisper White cardstock.
I hope today's card has inspired you in some small way. Thanks for taking the out of your day to visit my little corner of the world. Happy stamping and have a blessed day!
