Welcome to the February 2018 edition of the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie in the USA. This month is all about COLORING.
So sit back, relax and enjoy a few of my favorite ways to color!
There are so many ways to color with stamps and just as many mediums to choose from. I actually started off the new year with coloring some eclipse cards for my friends and family (click here for more details). I used Stampin' Write markers on Whisper White cardstock for this fun technique.
Here I used Stampin' Write Markers to create some texture on some cute critters from the new Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog.
Stampin' Write Markers were used to color the backside of the vellum behind the die cut leaves on the following cards (click here for more details). I also had fun coloring the squares behind the leaves by pressing a clear block on a Stampin' Pad, spritzing it lightly with water and then smooshing (smash and wiggle) the wet, messy clear block on the embossed Shimmer White cardstock.
Coloring on vellum is also fun to do with Stampin' Blends. Stampin' Blends provide a much smoother finish for color along with vibrant colors. The following card was inspired from B.J. Peters.
Stampin' Blends are so easy to use once you get used to them. You can actually create custom colors with them and incredible shadowing effects. And I must share with you that I learned a hard lesson with coloring...
Coloring the hard way... HUGE masterpiece! |
Coloring the easy way... SMALL masterpieces! |
Time and patience created these cards from one piece of 12x12 designer series paper aka One Sheet Wonder |
Watercoloring with Stampin' Up inks has always been my favorite way to color... there's nothing like squeezing the ink pad to get ink on the lid and adding water from an AquaPainter to make you feel like a professional artist! Watercoloring is a quick way to add color depending on the type of paper you choose along with the amount of water used.
So are you ready to start coloring some of your handmade cards?! I hope so, but first you need to continue on this awesome hop to get some more inspiration. Just click the next name on the list below to continue hopping along.
Thanks for hopping by and I'll see ya'll again soon!
