I'm in this awesome Facebook RAK Group where I send cards out to a random number of group members and over the course of a year (YES, I can't believe that it's been a year already). I have developed some special ties with several members that will occasionally get a card from me "just because"... so that makes it even more fun! Well, to celebrate the end of 2017, the Group had two very special events dear to my heart - we got to use RETIRED products instead of CURRENT products!!! With the hustle and bustle of Christmas, I made it to the post office just in the knick of time for cards to be postmarked on the last mail day of the year.
I hope these cards have helped you with some creative ruts that you may be in! So remember, when you're in a time crunch to create your own original handmade cards - do not hesitate to CASE (copy and selectively edit) another card. Your mind will appreciate it! Have a wonderful time creating some hugs to share!
God bless and have a great day!
You have to understand... I had a stack of about ten retired stamp sets that I wanted to use (I had been busy creating cards in my head)... but wasn't able to even think about creating RAK cards until after all the holiday hustle and bustle. I couldn't just let these two events go bye-bye without sending something out. So what did I do?! At the last minute, I decided to CAS(e) my first two Christmas cards that I made back in 2007 which I copied directly from page 40 of the Stampin' Up! Fall-Winter Collection 2007 catalog - at the back of the catalog on page 199, you will find the supplies used to create the cards. I also cased a RAK card that I had received in May (click here to see that blog post).

Angie, it's a pleasure to see so many lovely cards in one place. But I agree with you that being able to use/see retired stamps gives me a lot of happiness! Bringing new life to them with current supplies is something I love to do. Thank you for showing us what you did.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, Kathy! Thanks for sharing the love. 🙂
